The Trafford Borough Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer.  Applicant requirements:  must be 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen, currently be PA Act 120 certified.  The applicant must also have a high school diploma or a GED, be in good physical condition, meet all Civil Service requirements, and possess a valid PA Driver’s License.

The full-time officer position has a starting base pay of $70,221/year up to $79,747.20 after 3 years of service, $8,000 Sign on Bonus; $4,000 will be given upon hire and $4,000 upon 3rd year anniversary date. The physical agility testing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Allegheny County Police Academy.  Applicants who successfully pass the physical agility test will be eligible to take a written examination immediately thereafter.  There will be NO make-up dates.

The part-time officer position has a starting base pay of $25/hour up to $28/hour after 3 years of service, with a minimum of sixty-four hours a month.
