Lead Pipe Replacement Project

     WPJWA received a $9.3 million grant for the elimination of approximately 1,000 lead service lines throughout its service area.  A portion of those service lines are within Trafford.  The project will require, at a minimum, running a new service line from the water main (typically in the street) to the curb stop (typically in the sidewalk).  The project will also replace approximately 400 of the private portions of service line into a customer’s house (at no cost to the customer).  The primary means of installing the new service line will be by removing the old lead line out and installing a new copper line in its place, excavation of the road and at the curb box will be required in every instance.  Below is a list for the areas of the borough where this project will take place and is expected to occur over the next two years.

     MS Consultants is handling the inquiries and correspondence with residents who will receive water line replacements.  Only residents with lead pipes are included in this program.
