NOTICE AND SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of the Borough of Trafford, Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties, Pennsylvania, intends to consider for enactment, an Amusement Tax Ordinance.  The following is a summary of the proposed Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF TRAFFORD, ALLEGHENY AND WESTMORELAND COUNTIES, PENNSYLVANIA, IMPLEMENTING A TEN PERCENT (10%) AMUSEMENT TAX; CONTAINING A DEFINITIONS SECTION; REQUIRING PROVIDERS OF AMUSEMENT EVENTS TO REGISTER WITH THE BOROUGH; DETAILING THE PROCEDURES FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE AMUSEMENT TAX BY PROVIDERS OR THE BOROUGH; REQUIRING PROVIDERS OF AMUSEMENT EVENTS TO FILE REPORTS WITH THE BOROUGH; PROVIDING FOR THE DISPOSITION OF TAXES, PENALTIES AND INTEREST; PROVIDING PENALTIES/REMEDIES FOR VIOLATION; REPEALING INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND/OR PORTIONS OF INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES; INCLUDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The Borough Council intends to take action on the proposed Ordinance, and to consider any and all other business as may properly come before Council, at its duly scheduled meeting, to be held on February 2, 2021, at 7:00 P.M., in the Markosek Council Chambers, Trafford Borough Building, 414 Brinton Avenue, Trafford, Pennsylvania or at such time thereafter as Council deems appropriate.  Copies of the proposed ordinance may be requested from or viewed, by appointment, at the borough office at the above address between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
