Reimagine Food Systems in the Trafford Community

Promote PT is partnering with organizations from across the Pittsburgh region for the ReImagine Turtle Creek Watershed and Airshed Communities initiative. This community-led initiative envisions and implements sustainable community and economic development for the TCWAC and beyond. The counties of Eastern Allegheny and Western Westmoreland, in which the communities reside, are focusing on sustainability tactics for Human Health and Wellness, Land Management, Renewable Energy and Green Infrastructure, Urban Agriculture, and Single-Use Plastics Diversion.

The first project from one of our working groups is to build two home gardens in the Trafford area so that the people of Trafford can have access to fresh, homegrown food. All materials, installation, and ongoing education will be provided to one lucky family.
