REQUEST FOR BIDS

NOTICE TO GARBAGE/RUBBISH/RECYCLING CONTRACTORS

Sealed bids will be received for a municipal collection, hauling, disposal of solid waste, recyclables, bulk waste, household hazardous waste, and electronic waste from residential units in the Borough of Trafford.  Multi-family apartments and commercial businesses must subscribe to services under this contract, but may currently be under contract with another hauler.  Nothing in this contract shall adversely affect an existing contract for hauling services, but such establishments shall be required to subscribe to and utilize the service under this contract upon the expiration of any current contract.  The Borough of Trafford estimates that there are approximately 1,600 individual dwelling units within the municipality.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that specifications and proposal forms are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays at the Borough of Trafford, 414 Brinton Avenue, Trafford, PA 15085.

BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED at the Trafford Borough Office until 12:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Friday, November 3, 2017, and will be opened at 1:30 p.m. on the same date.  A pre-bid conference is scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trafford Borough Office.

The Borough of Trafford reserves the right to reject any and all bids received in whole or in part and waive any informalities.  Each bid shall remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days.

All bids must be accompanied by a twenty-five percent (25%) bid bond or certified check, as well as a Non-Collusion Affidavit.

All bids must be sealed, identified with the name and address of the bidder, and clearly marked in the lower left-hand corner of the envelope, “Bid for Garbage, Refuse, and Recycling Service.”
