Pittsburgh Regional Transit has informed Trafford Borough that its final Bus Line Refresh proposal would end Route 69 service at the Haymaker Village shopping plaza. Under the proposal, the bus would no longer enter Trafford Borough.
The Borough proposed two alternatives in an effort to retain service within the community; however, PRT advised that it could not accommodate the longer existing loop or the alternative shorter-loop options.
PRT has served Trafford since 1964, and approximately 31 rides currently originate in the Borough on an average weekday. The loss of service could affect residents who rely on public transportation to reach employment, healthcare, education, shopping, and other essential services. The proposed changes could be implemented as early as 2027.
PRT is accepting formal public comments on the proposal through September 30th. Comments may be submitted online, by telephone, in writing, or at a public hearing. Please submit your feedback directly to PRT at:
Please share this post so that every affected resident, employee, business owner, and transit rider has an opportunity to be heard.
