On November 11, 2018, at exactly 11:00 AM, the old Trafford School bell, cast in 1916, will be tolled 21 times as a solemn remembrance of the men and women of this Nation who served and sacrificed during the Great War. The ceremony will also mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended the hostilities of World War I. In the war, 116,516 Americans died and over 200,000 were wounded. Please join us at 10:30 AM for this national moment of remembrance as we gather in the Park for a ceremony of music, poetry, and reflection. The program begins at 10:30 AM and we ask that you bring a lawn chair with you. Organizations participating in the program include the Penn Trafford Community Band, the Trafford American Legion Post 331, the Honor Guard from American Legion Gold Star Post 820, Trafford Veterans Memorial Renovation Committee, Trafford Historical Society, and members of the Forbes Trail Marine Corps League.
