Linda
Byers from the Recreation board spoke to council about some grants available to
entertain the idea of a multi-sport court. The grant window opens in January and
closes in April. At a prior meeting an interest in a skatepark was brought up
by Logan Irdi. Information was gathered by Linda Byers regarding a location for
the park and the similar designs in other municipalities. Linda will schedule a
meeting with Logan and the Borough Manager to further discuss the interest and
fundraising efforts for the sport court. Councilmembers expressed concerns
limiting the park to just skateboarding, skateboarding can just be a fad and then the area just creates a place for destruction
and graffiti when left idle.
Mayor Llewellyn
asked council about the idea of subletting the ballfields out for use for upcoming
2023 year.
Councilmember
Bayko asked if there were any issues with teams using it in the past. The mayor
replied that there had been no issues.
Council decided
to keep the ballfield to local and senior teams.
