Trafford Borough Full-Time Police Officer Job Advertisement
The Trafford Borough Police Department is now accepting applications for a position of fulltime police officer. Applicant requirements: must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen, and PA Act 120 certified. The applicant must also have a high school diploma or a GED, be in good physical condition, meet all Civil Service requirements and possess a valid PA Driver’s License.
The full-time officer position has a starting base pay of $53,497.60/year up to $66,872.00 after 5 years of service, $8,000 Sign on Bonus; $4,000 will be given upon hire and $4,000 upon 3rd year anniversary date. Excellent benefits package including healthcare, pension, vacation/personal/sick/holiday time, uniform allowance, and life insurance after probationary period.

Trafford Borough is 1.2 Sq. miles with 6 full-time police officers including the Police Chief, and 2 part-time officers. The Trafford Police Department offers (but not limited to) calls for service, conducts traffic enforcement, and helps patrol the community. Trafford Borough also has a contract with the Penn-Trafford School District for a School Resource Officer at the Trafford Elementary and Middle School. The Trafford Police Deparment works closely on community relations and patrol the Trafford Manor High Rise in partnership with the Westmoreland County Housing Authority.
